Once again, Richard is very excited to be presenting at the prestigious AERA (American Educational Research Association) annual conference!

This year's conference theme is Dismantling Racial Injustice and Constructing Educational Possibilities: A Call to Action and will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from April 11 - 14, 2024. In partnership with his supervisor and mentor Dr. Eugene Kowch, Richard will be presenting Decolonizing Dialog for Leaders: Towards a Framework for Describing the Adaptive Capacity of Leadership Teams. 

In an increasingly complex world, organizations must adapt. We must mitigate organizational inertia and social pathologies like racism, but these wicked problems defy linear either/or solutions. “A good way” for leading complex organizations is to focus more on relationality and collectives where adaptable leaders are better prepared to work in complex organizations. But how can we know more about the potential or adaptive capacity of a team.
